Why LANYT?  The band derived its moniker from the abbreviations for Los Angeles and New York.

“I eventually thought of the span across the country from L.A. to New York, and at first I was thinking it would be L-A-N-Y, but people kept getting confused on how to pronounce it when I told them, saying things like ‘L-A-and-Y?’ So then we’re like forget it–let’s call ourselves LANY, pronounced Lay-Nee,” LANY’s Paul Klein told Teen Vogue.

The group recently released Kinda via Interscope.  The EP includes the singles “Where The Hell Are My Friends” and “yea, babe,” plus four unreleased tracks.

Touring has been very good to LANY.  Having sold out its last headlining outing before playing the first date, the band landed on lineups for , and and snagged a run opening for Oh Wonder.  Upcoming festival action includes and .
