Tech N9ne Announces ‘The Calm Before The Storm’ Tour

A storm’s brewing in Tech N9ne world. The September-October forecast has the rapper touring throughout the Midwest and West Coast, along with stops in Albuquerque, Louisville and Dallas.

“The Calm Before The Storm” tour goes along with his upcoming LP, The Storm, which is due out Sept. 9 via Strange Music.

The U.S. trek kicks off the night before at the Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines, Iowa. Dates are booked through Oct. 31 in Columbia, Mo. Of course Tech N9ne has lined up a performance in his hometown of Kansas City.

During a Q&A with Pollstar a few years ago Tech N9ne explained what keeps him coming back to the stage.

“To look out and see that everybody in the crowd is smiling at me, relaxes me,” he said. “It’s like, nobody’s frowning. I feel like a comedian, but I’m not. Everybody’s smiling because the music is so wonderful. This is my habitat. I feel like I belong out here. The charge that I get when I’m on stage is like no drug I’ve ever had. I’ve been clean for over eight years but when I was on drugs it was nothing like the charge that I get when the crowd is totally into it. And I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that.”

Tech N9ne will be joined on the road by special guests Krizz Kaliko, JL and Starrz. Check out the routing below:
