TM Charged With Discrimination

A former human relations coordinator is suing Ticketmaster alleging disability discrimination after being terminated from her job in West Virginia because of a medical condition.

Barbara Dixon claims she suffered a bronchial ailment in September and was placed on “vocal rest” by her doctor and missed “a couple of days of work” during which time the unspecified ailment “went away.” It returned in December and again Davis presented a note from her doctor, which she says was rejected by her supervisor with a request for more information, according to court documents.

Davis subsequently entered a hospital emergency room twice in the next month for treatment. According to the complaint, Davis received a positive performance review and raise on Jan. 14, yet was fired the next day.

She alleges the termination was because of her medical condition and a violation of West Virginia’s Human Rights Act. The suit seeks unspecified compensatory damages for lost wages and benefits, emotional and punitive damages, and attorney fees and costs.
