Mick Fleetwood Serves Fall Blues
The tour marks Fleetwood returning to his musical roots. Fleetwood Mac emerged as a blues band during the mid ’60s and boasted a lineup that included Peter Green along with drummer Fleetwood. Bassist John McVie joined soon after.
The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band also includes singer/guitarist Rick Vito, who was a member of Fleetwood Mac 1987-91, plus bassist Lenny Castellanos and keyboardist/backing vocalist Mark Johnstone. That same lineup recorded the 2008 album Blue Again! which received a Grammy nom for best traditional blues album.
Along with performing originals, The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band will dig into Fleetwood Mac’s early blues catalog for classics such as “Oh Well,” and “Black Magic Woman” as well as standards like “Shake Your Money Maker.”
“Over my career I’ve been called a pop star and a rock star, yet in my inner heart, I will always be part bluesman,” Fleetwood said. “On my journey from blues to a life of rock ’n’ roll, I’ve always remembered where I started.”
