Louisiana Park Revamping For Festivals
The town of Donaldsonville, La., is investing $1 million into a park so it can host a jazz festival annually.
The festival, the Rural Roots of Jazz Fest, will be hosted in Crescent Park, according to city officials. Ideally, they said, the event will precede the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which is set for the end of April and early May for next year.
The town of Donaldsonville was founded in 1806, and officials hope the festival will draw visitors in to build appreciation for the city’s rich history.
