Bad Religion + Against Me! Team Up

“We’re going on tour with @badreligion this October… BUT THIS TIME FOR REAL!!!!!” Against Me! singer/guitarist Laura Jane Grace tweeted this week. Following the cancellation of 2013’s co-headline outing, the two bands are set to hit the road together in late September.

The 2013 tour was called off because Against Me! drummer Jay Weinberg had recently departed the lineup. He was replaced by Atom Willard. A few months after Weinberg broke the news that he was leaving the band, bassist Andrew Seward followed suit. Inge Johansson has been handling bassist duties since 2013.

Against Me! is getting ready to put out a new album. A specific release date hasn’t been set but Grace indicated in May that the band was shooting for sometime in September.

During an interview posted on RollingStone.com in November, Grace said the new album is really different from its 2014 album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues.

“The last record was an isolating experience and a solo endeavor in a lot of ways – not to diminish anyone else’s roles, but it was a really personal record,” she told RS. “I want this one to feel like we’re all in it equally. We’ve been having a really good time playing with each other. We’ll see what that means sonically, but that’s the vibe.”

Bad Religion’s most recent album is 2013’s True North.
