The tour is in support of Garbage’s sixth album, Strange Little Birds, that arrived last month via the band’s StunVolume Records.  The video for the album’s “Empty” lead single, was directed by longtime collaborator Samuel Bayer.

A note posted on the band’s website says Garbage’s Butch Vig is still suffering from acute sinusitis and is under doctor’s orders not to fly.  Therefore, Eric Gardner (Gnarles Barkley, Tom Morello) will be subbing for Vig through August.
