MN Venue Owner Dies

Bob Raskob, 90, died July 15. He was owner and operator of the Medina Entertainment Center, which opened in 1956 as the Medina Ballroom in Minnesota.

Raskob booked Garth Brooks’ first Minnesota show July 28, 1990.

The Medina Entertainment Center hosts concerts, weddings, banquets, dances and features bowling plus an arcade room.

The Medina Inn and Robert’s Restaurant & Bar are also part of the facility, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

Raskob’s son Mark is current GM of the venue.

Notable artists Bob Raskob brought to the center include Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Keith Urban, Pat Benatar, Martina McBride, Blake Shelton, Toby Keith and Dierks Bentley.
