Top Cop Reprimanded Over Gift Tickets

A Miami police chief faced scrutiny after he was gifted tickets to a performance from his friend Marc Anthony and did not report them.

Chief Rodolfo Llanes received four tickets to Anthony last year from the popstar himself and assumed he didn’t have to report the gift because the items had no face value printed on them.

The Miami-Dade County ethics panel said the tickets would have cost the average concertgoer hundreds and Llanes should have understood their value.

The gift has since been reported and the complaint is now dismissed. Llanes and Anthony became friends through the singer’s participation in charity with the Police Athletic League.
