Fuji Rock’s Avalanche
Less than a week before the Fuji Rock Festival was scheduled to start in the mountains of Niigata Japan on July 22, one of the most anticipated acts, Australia’s The Avalanches, announced they were canceling their appearance.
The reason given was “health problems” of one of the members, though the member was not identified.
The Avalanches recently released their first album in 16 years.
In other Fuji news, the organizer, Smash Corp., announced that 3-day passes and 2-day passes for Saturrday and Sunday were sold out three days before the festival opened.
Two-day passes and one-day tickets for Friday and Saturday were still available at the site.
