Four nights with the Guns are locked in for July 27, 29 and 31 and Aug. 3, and the group is playing a headline gig in San Antonio Aug. 2. The headline tour dates range from Sept. 16 in Hampton Beach N.H. to Oct. 8 in Primm, Nev. During that run there are also a number of festival appearances at  and the .

The solo shows will likely feature a good amount of material off The Cult’s latest album Alive In The Hidden City, which was released in February. This new album and the previous Choice of Weapon are welcome sights for many fans, as Astbury once said in 2009 that the group would never release another LP.

“For me, the idea of making albums is dead,” Astbury said in an interview with Blabbermouth. “The idea of spending a year and a half in the studio arguing over agendas and trying to fit into a format that’s settled before we started the creative process (is unappealing).”

The post-punk act formulated in the ‘80s and has broken up and reformed a few times over the years, undergoing a number of lineup changes along the way. The current membership consists of founding vocalist Ian Astbury and founding guitarist Billy Duffy joined by Grant Fitzpatrick on bass, Damon Fox holding down the keyboards and rhythmic guitar, and John Tempesta banging out the drums.
