Joanna Newsom’s Southern Stint

Indie sweetheart Joanna Newsom is bringing her harp, piano and high-pitched vocals to the Southern U.S. after skipping the region on her last headline tour.

Newsom’s record label Drag City released a charming statement that promised: “In the early days of September, when the days begin to grow shorter but the summer heat maintains, expect a blooming of bliss when Joanna arrives in your (extra-humid) state!”

The songstress has gigs in Austin, New Orleans and Atlanta, following an appearance at End of the Road in Dorset, England, Sept. 4. Here are the dates and venues:

Sept. 7 – Austin, Texas, Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater
Sept. 9 – New Orleans, La., The Civic Theatre
Sept. 11 – Atlanta, Ga., The Buckhead Theatre
