Shonen Knife’s Latest ‘Adventure’

The Japanese pop-punk trio formed in 1981 in Osaka and released its debut album, Burning Farm, in 1983. The band is a ton of fun with feline frenzy song titles such as “I Am A Cat” from 1992’s Let’s Knife, “Catnip Dream” off of 1994’s Rock Animals and “Like A Cat” on 2014’s Overdrive.

In 2011, Shonen Knife put out a tribute album to The Ramones titled Osaka Ramones. The group’s upcoming tour supports its latest release, Adventure, which dropped in April via Good Charamel Records. The first single from the 10-track LP is “Jump Into the New World.”

Stereogum declares that the tune “carves out its place amongst their extensive catalog, continuing their mastery of the happiest punk you’ll ever hear.”
