Gary S. Paxton Dies
Gary S. Paxton, 77, died of heart surgery complications and liver disease July 17 in Branson, Mo.

Paxton was part of the teenage duo Skip & Flip. He was a songwriter, performer and record producer. He produced hit singles such as “Alley-Oop,” “Monster Mash” and wrote “Woman (Sensuous Woman)” for Don Gibson. Paxton transitioned from rock to contemporary Christian music and won a Grammy in 1977 for his gospel album “The Astonishing, Outrageous, Amazing, Incredible, Unbelievable, Different World of Gary S. Paxton.”
In 1998, he was inducted into the Country Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame.
