Longtime friend Robert Duncan announced Pearlman’s death on Facebook. Duncan also started a GoFundMe page for Pearlman in December after “he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage that left him unable to walk, talk or fully comprehend his circumstances.” Pearlman was also a songwriter, head of 415 Records and on staff at Crawdaddy! magazine.
He was a music and philosophy professor teaching at UC Berkley, McGill, Harvard and Stanford. He managed BOC, Dictators, Aldo Nova and Dio-era Black Sabbath.
“Saturday Night Live’s” famous cowbell skit featuring Christopher Walken was a light-hearted portrayal of Pearlman.
