The mobile app, titled “Block Wars,” was slated for release soon and will puts players in the middle of drug dealing and gang life on the streets of Compton. A soundtrack to accompany the videogame is available now, with ten new tracks. This is the second new soundtrack The Game has released this year, with Streets of Compton having dropped last month in tandem with a documentary series which aired on A&E.

If two full soundtracks in two months accompanying other projects sounds like a lot, the artist is also promoting marijuana-infused lemonade products and pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, and founded a record label several years ago.

The Game is quietly becoming a towering figure in the hip hop landscape. He came up through the support of tastemaker Dr. Dre over ten years ago and was affiliated with G-Unit early in his career. He would go on to star in films and television and remains a prolific studio artist, with a steady stream of albums and mixtapes coming yearly.

One element of The Game’s large industry presence is his street cred. He has feuded publicly with big and small rappers throughout his career and his affiliation with the Bloods street gang features prominently in his music. He has, however, increasingly been a proponent for gang unity as he has aged, and often posts on the subject through his various social media accounts.

The rapper has also been a large advocate for community development in Los Angeles and recently marched to the Los Angeles Police Department Headquarters with Snoop Dogg, who has been openly affiliated with Long Beach Crips, to promote better relationships between police and the black community.

The “1992: Block Wars Tour” starts on the rapper’s native West Coast, with four shows in California, then passes through most regions, some briefly, before completing with a show in Portland Oct. 6. The opener is at a sizable venue,  in Oakland, Aug. 26, but he will also be playing clubs like , which caps at 1,000 people.
