Deerhunter Slinking Through North America

Indie pop-rock act Deerhunter will be rambling around the U.S. this October with Aldous Harding and Jock Gang joining as support acts.

The first show is at  in Covington, Ky., Oct. 5 and the run extends until Oct. 25 in Baltimore. Notable stops along the way are:  in Joshua Tree, Calif., Oct. 14;  in Columbia, Mo., Oct. 19; and  in New York Oct. 24.

Prior to the headline tour, the band is at  in its hometown of Atlanta Aug. 13. The group also has a pair of shows in Japan Aug. 18 in Osaka and Aug. 20 in Chiba.

The band is normally a four-piece consisting of Bradford Cox as a vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist, Lockett Pundt also on the guitar and vocals, Moses Archuleta on drums and Josh McKay holding down the bass. For the live experience the guys will be joined by Rhasaan Manning and Javier Morales.

The group will play music off its music from its Fading Frontier album, released last October after being cut in the band’s native Atlanta. Deerhunter has been an indie-darling for some time, and Frontier earned praise like “Deerhunter’s most straightforward, uplifting, pop-infused album to date” from The Guardian and “Phenomenal” from Under The Radar.
