Bob Mould’s Southern Stint Takes Shape

Rock and roll veteran Bob Mould is adding a second, Southern leg in November to his U.S. plans.

Mould first rose to prominence as a member of the punk act Hüsker Dü in the ‘80s. He recently released Patch The Sky, an album which blends all of his punk-rock sensibilities with a maturity of lyricism and musicianship that other aging rockers should aspire to.

Patch The Sky has already been recognized as excellent by numerous critics, and was ranked by Rolling Stone as the 17th highest-rated album of 2016 at the time of publication. He plays the live show as part of a trio with Jason Narducy and Jon Wurster rounding out the sound.

First, let’s talk about the new dates. The rocker was already scheduled to play at Sound on Sound Festical Nov. 6 in Bastrop, Texas. Now he has tacked on the following dates: another Texas show in Dallas, Nov. 5; two gigs in Athens, Ga., Nov. 10 and 11; a Nashville performance Nov. 12; and a stop in Carrboro, N.C. Nov. 14.
