Children of Bodom has been a standard-bearer for death metal since its first trek around the world in 2003, during which its guitarist, Alexander Kuoppala, quit mid-tour. The group’s most recent album is last year’s I Worship Chaos. COB also invited axeman Daniel Freyberg into the group last year.

The group already toured North America extensively in February and March, and some of the upcoming stops are in cities that saw performances a few months ago, so some lucky fans might get to see the group twice in one year. The opening gig on Nov. 23, for example, is in Quebec City, which got a taste of Bodom on March 24. There are new destinations though, such as Toronto Nov. 25, Cleveland Nov. 28 and Atlanta Dec. 13.

The band just wrapped up a stint in Europe at  in France Aug. 19. Children of Bodom’s next gig is Slipknot’s  at the  in San Bernardino, Calif., Sept. 24.

Abbath is a relatively new black metal group formed around Abbath Doom Occulta, former frontman for Immortal. The band released its self-titled debut album in January.

Before linking up with Children of Bodom, Exmortus, a southern California-based metal act, has a free show with Gravehill and Blade Killer scheduled Sept. 19 at the Regent in Los Angeles. It is also playing the  in San Bernardino Sept. 23.

Oni has a busy schedule for the rest of 2016. The band is headlining a run of California shows before Knotfest, then supports ‘s “Return To Roots” tour in October, finally joining Children of Bodom for the “I Worship Chaos Tour” in November. The band is also set to release a new album in the fall.
