Erykah Badu On Stage & On The Phone
“Phone Down” marks her 10th Top 10 R&B tune. The track is included on her latest mixtape, But You Caint Use My Phone, which was released in November. Fans had been waiting since 2010’s New Amerykah Part Two for new music from Badu.
The self-described “singer, songwriter, producer, DJ, director, activist, holistic healer, doula, veggie, bgirl, observer and hustler” will be showing off more new tunes with the premier of the Comedy Central series “Legends of Chamberlain Heights” on Sept. 14. As the music supervisor for “Chamberlain Heights”, Badu is composing original music for the series.
In addition to being featured in the film “The Land,” Badu teamed up with Nas for the theme, “The Bitter Land.”
