London’s Studio 338 To Reopen After Fire

A fire at the Greenwich venue on August 8 claimed the life of staff member Tomas Ceidukas, and severely damaged the club. Ceidukas was described by his colleagues as “the most lovely soul,” and also released a statement saying: “Tomas we will see you again and dance together one day. Everything we do from now is for you mate. RIP Tomas.”
A subsequent fundraiser collected almost £10,000 for Ceidukas’ family and funeral in Lithuania. A Sept. 21 club night in Camden’s Koko has been organized to raise funds for the rebuilding and reopening of Studio 338’s terrace.
Meanwhile, the team behind Studio 338 also announced plans for a new venue in East London.
“So obviously the last few weeks have been very hard. However we have tried to remain positive and make our plans quickly on how we can get you all back on the dance floor as soon as possible,” a statement reads. “We hope to play a big part in bringing the city’s nightlife back to being one of the very best in the world. Besides that we miss you lot and want to be back together ASAP!”
Details on the new venue and the reopening of Studio 338’s terrace are to follow shortly.
