Honoring Don Law

Pollstar is proud to announce famed Boston concert promoter Don Law as the recipient of our next Honors Award, to be presented at the Pollstar Live! conference in February.

Law, the current president of Live Nation – New England, has quietly built an empire in the Boston area. Unlike his contemporary Bill Graham, Law has been known to keep a relatively low profile while becoming one of the most successful and savviest promoters in North America.

Within the industry, his name has been synonymous with concerts in New England for decades. In the early days of the concert business, Law operated the legendary Boston Tea Party club where he helped break bands like Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and Jethro Tull… among the many bands that stayed loyal to Law when they returned to the area to play arenas.

The son of notable Columbia Records producer Don Law Sr., the promoter grew the Don Law Company to the point of selling it to SFX Entertainment for $92 million in 1998.

Although he still works for Live Nation today, he also operates a number of venues, including the  under his own Crossroads Presents.

The Pollstar Honors Award has been presented to ACTS’ Barbara Hubbard and Monterey Peninsula Artists founders Dan Weiner and Fred Bohlander.

Law’s presentation will be held at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles during the Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2017, edition of Pollstar Live!
