The Memphis native signed on as a partner and producer of the event, which will hold its second annual festival Sept. 24-25. Timberlake said in a statement the partnership was “an amazing opportunity to help build an exceptional event and contribute to my community,” according to the Tennessean.

Timberlake shared the news via Twitter Aug. 23, putting Pilgrimage on the radar of more than 56 million followers. Festival co-founder Kevin Griffin called Timberlake’s involvement invaluable for the festival. “Justin is that rare person. … He just seems like this guy you want to hang out with,” he told the Tennessean. “That rubs off on what he’s involved with. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him (on board).”

This year’s Pilgrimage lineup includes The Struts, Beck, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves, Grace Potter, Shakey Graves, The Violent Femmes, The Arcs, and Cake.
