Rusted Root Rises Up For Autumn

Rusted Root sets out on a national tour across the U.S. this fall. The excursion features shows with Toad The Wet Sprocket and the Devon Allman Band on select dates.

The Pittsburgh-based jam band fuses rock, acoustic and world genres with percussion influenced by Native American, Latin American and African beats. The members have been collaborating for two decades and currently consist of Michael Glabicki (lead vocals/guitar), Liz Berlin (vocals/percussion), Patrick Norman (vocals/bass/percussion), Dirk Miller (guitar) and Cory Caruso (drums).

The group’s 1994 sophomore album, When I Woke, hit platinum and features the single “Send Me On My Way,” which was used in numerous films and commercials. Their latest LP, The Movement, dropped in 2012.

“I am very inspired vocally by anything from Indian to African to Middle Eastern sounds and scales having grown up with a lot of Hebrew music,” Berlin said.

Toad The Wet Sprocket appears Sept. 2 in Huber Heights, Ohio, at the Rose Music Center at The Heights and Sept. 3 in Naperville, Ill., at the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling festival.
