Clutch Popping Off European Tour

Rock mainstay Clutch has extended its “Psychic Warfare” tour into Europe with a number of dates supported by Valient Thorr and Lionize.
“I think, at the end of the day, everybody wants the same thing.  They want safety, food and shelter and to have a good time.”

The new gigs run from Nov. 30 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Dec, 18 in Manchester, England, in the U.K. This is the second time the band has hit the continent this year, as they just finished a run of festivals and headline dates in August with performances at  and  festivals.

Lionize, which is appearing on all of the European Clutch dates, is an American reggae-rock band that touches on genres of funk and dub.

Valient Thorr, which is only currently listing the U.K. dates on its website, blends hard rock, metal and ’90s punk rock influences. With the exception of frontman Valient Himself, the group’s band members take on names that end in “Thorr” like Eidan Thorr (guitar), Storm Thorr (bass), Deimos Thorr (guitar) and Iggy Thorr (drums)

Clutch also tours North America in the fall with headline dates from Sept. 28 in Buffalo, N.Y., to Oct. 30 in Worcester, Mass. That run is being supported by Zakk Sabbath and Kyng. Zakk Sabbath is a trio consisting of Zakk Wylde, Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, who has also played with Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie, and drummer Joey Castillo of Danzig and Queens of the Stone Age.

Clutch has been doing its thing for 25 years, and has managed to preserve its original membership of frontman and guitarist Neil Fallon, bassist Dan Maines, guitarist Tim Sult and drummer Jean-Paul Gaster. The group’s latest release, 2015’s Psychic Warefare, was its eleventh studio album. The Frederick, Md.-founded band is known for its dynamic live shows.
