Riki Rachtman’s World Famous Cathouse returns to Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in California Aug. 15. The “one night of debauchery” included voices and acts of the ‘80s and ’90s like Sebastian Bach, Extreme, Faster Pussycat, and Saigon Kick.

LN and developer FivePoint, which is also a sponsor of the final Irvine Meadows season, “will propose conceptual ideas for an outdoor concert venue to be constructed at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine to the City Council in the coming weeks,” according to the Orange County Register.

Because of a plethora of posts and messages on social media concerning the end of the amphitheatre, LN started the Save Live Music Irvine campaign Aug. 5 during a sold-out Miranda Lambert show at the venue. More than 14,000 individuals have expressed they want a replacement venue. A graffiti wall was also created for people to share memories of the amphitheatre plus videotape of artists sharing their experiences at the venue.

LN and FivePoint will use all of this material to support their proposal for a new facility at Great Park. In the meantime, a smaller, temporary structure is being considered for construction by next summer. This short-term solution could stand for one to three years while a permanent structure is being designed and approved.
