Dave Matthews, Tim Reynolds’ Mexican Adventure

Dave Matthews and longtime collaborator Tim Reynolds are headed south of the border for a three-day concert vacation in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

The event is set to take place at the  Feb. 23-25. The host venue has five unique properties and there will be performances all three nights. If you don’t want to stay at Riviera Maya, there are other resorts in the area like , Banyan Tree Mayakoba and Rosewood Mayakoba.

Regardless of where you stay, expect a very streamlined experience as the area hosts many gatherings similar to this, such as LCD Soundsystem’s  and Phish’s  getaways, both of which are slated for January. Tickets are all-inclusive of food and drink, hotel, shuttle and concierge services.

Matthews met Reynolds while working as bartender in Charlottesville, Va. Reynolds encouraged Matthews to start his own project and was a longtime collaborator with Dave Matthews Band before finally recording as a member on DMB’s Away from the World in 2012. They have played duo sets together for decades though, and are already booked to play  in Bristow, Va., Sept. 17 and another gig in Hermosa Beach, Calif., Sept. 18.

AllMusic.com’s MacKenzie Wilson called Reynolds an “underrated master” for his work with DMB, his band  and his solo material. Here is a taste of his live shows with Matthews have looked like.

A fan club presale is open Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. EDT and Citi cardholders get a special sale Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. EDT. The rest of us can get tickets Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. EDT.
