Changes: Miranda Lambert, Billy Joel

Miranda Lambert cancels the last three dates of her current tour … Billy Joel’s September residency gig at Madison Square Garden is moved to November.

Three Texas cities won’t be hosting Miranda Lambert this week. The country star’s website lists Sept. 15 in Corpus Christi, Sept. 16 in Austin and Sept. 17 in San Antonio as canceled, but no reason was given. Refunds available at points of purchase.

Editor’s note: Austin ABC affiliate KVUE reports the shows were canceled after doctors ordered Lambert to get some “vocal rest.”

Fans holding tickets to Billy Joel’s Sept. 30 gig at Madison Square Garden will have to wait a couple of months to see the Piano Man in action. A posting on Joel’s website says “endoscopic sinus surgery” is responsible for the change in plans. Along with going under the knife, Joel will need “to rest his voice and avoid any strenuous activity.” The posting also says Joel “is expected to make a full recovery.”
