Happy 25th Anniversary, Guster!
If there’s any time to use all-caps, it’s a silver anniversary.
“WE HAVE BEEN A BAND FOR TWENTY FIVE YEARS, GUSTERRHOIDS,” Guster declared in a post on its website this week. “We vaguely remember that our first time on stage together was at Lewis Hall, Tufts University, in December 1991. We were a trio named ‘Ryan, Adam, and Brian’ and we played six cover songs at double speed.”
The Boston-based alternative rock band still features guitarist/vocalist Ryan Miller, guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner and percussionist/drummer Brian Rosenworcel. Multi-instrumentalist Luke Reynolds joined the band in 2010.
During the past 25 years, Guster has toured the world, released seven full-length albums and landed on the cover of Pollstar.
The guys will celebrate 25 years with a Nov. 25 gig at New York’s Beacon Theatre, featuring an opening performance from the Old 97’s. Guster is bringing along some memorabilia and perhaps even “a new song or two.”
Along with the anniversary show, the band announced a handful of additional gigs.
Here’s the remaining 2016 routing, with the new dates bolded:
Sept. 16 – Concord, N.H., Capitol Center for the Arts – Chubb Theatre
