Minnesota Club Closing

AEG-operated venue in downtown Minneapolis will close its doors by the end of this year. Mill City Nights and its basement venue  have decided to call it quits after four years in business. 

The club opened in 2012 as The Brick. Jane’s Addiction performed the inaugural show but was met with negative reviews on social media. Four months later the venue reopened with major remodeling. Since then, the 1,200-capacity club operated as a comparable-sized alternative to , which accommodates nearly 1,600 and the  with its capacity of 759.

The official closing date is Nov. 30. No specific reasons were given for the closing. “It was purely a business decision and not an easy one to come to,” AEG Live’s Joe Litvag told Pollstar.

AEG is working to reschedule concerts booked after that date at other Twin Cities venues. A few of the last performances slated for the venue include Hatebreed Oct. 7, Sum 41 Oct. 22 and  Nov. 19.
