Last month, UK rapper Skepta bowed out of appearances in three cities just days before.

In the latest instance, Travis Scott was to stop over in New Zealand after Australian dates for a show on his way back to the United States.

The Oct. 4 date at the  club in Auckland was a sellout. But a few days before, the 24-year-old, much in demand as a producer, announced he had to return immediately to America, due to an “unforeseen commitment.”

Scott apologised for any disappointment. The show was to have been his first in New Zealand.

Fans took to social media to express their annoyance. But Twitter user @strewnryan was able to quip, “What’s harder, getting the (Prime Minister) to agree to do anything, or getting rappers not to cancel their shows?”
