Hirsch Coliseum Reopens

The  in Shreveport, La., reopened Sept. 27 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony after undergoing a renovation.

Encompass Sports, owned by Tommy Scott, invested $2 million in the project, according to the Shreveport Times. Scott is the former owner of the Mudbugs, a hockey team that returned to the arena Sept. 29 and kicked off the season with a win.

Improvements to the venue included a video board, new seats, fresh paint and luxury suites. The capacity for hockey games is 3,434 and the space will also be used for public skating, birthday celebrations and other events.
