Green Day Books Trip Down Under

The revolution is headed to Australia and New Zealand next spring – Green Day’s “Revolution Radio Tour,” to be more specific.

The six-date excursion marks the punk rock band’s first headline tour Down Under since 2009’s “21st Century Breakdown” outing.

The U.S. portion of the “Revolution Radio Tour” kicked off Sept. 26 in Columbus, Ohio, and wraps up Oct. 20 in Berkeley, Calif. After a few months off, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool will return to the road in January for a long list of European headline dates.

The global trek goes along with Green Day’s 12th studio album, due out Oct. 7 through Reprise Records. Revolution Radio is described as “a potent 12-track blitz of angst-ridden anthems that unites Green Day’s fully formed stylistic approach with lyrical themes that address the complexities and uncertainties of modern day existence.”
