A whole slew of support acts will be joining the tour. Skating PollyThe BlastersSmall WigsTripwiresMike Watt And The SecondmenLP3 & The Tragedy, and Chris Shiflett are all performing at select dates.

The routing includes four-night stands in Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, and West Hollywood. Each night of those residencies has a different opener, so many support acts only play once or twice. The main support act is Small Wigs, who will be playing with X in every city.

The tour kicks off Nov. 27 at  in Seattle and continues until a four-night stand in  West Hollywood at , with the last night being New Year’s Eve. The group is also set to play the  in Cleveland Oct. 21.

X was founded in 1976 when guitarist Billy Zoom saw The Ramones and put an ad in the classifieds to try to form a band, and connected with bassist John Doe. 40 years later the band is still playing with its original membership of Doe, Zoom, founding drummer D.J. Bonebreak and vocalist .

The band has also added a few new faces and shuffled its instrumentation since its founding. Cervanka said in a statement, “We now have Billy Zoom on saxophone, DJ on vibes! We added another fine musician, Craig Packham to fill in on drums and rhythm guitar to make that happen.”

Don’t expect much Christmas themed music from the rockers. An announcement said “The show will be a history lesson for X fans – the music will tell the story from then to now.”

The band’s sound has evolved over the last 40 years, but the foundation is the power-chord driven style born from the Ramones and the vocals of Cervenka, one of early punk’s most notable female voices.
