Songkick Seeks LN Documents

So far, the suit hasn’t gone well for Songkick. A federal judge in California denied motions for preliminary injunctions challenging the Live Nation merger with Ticketmaster and the latter’s ability to charge service fees on presale tickets. The motion, filed in early October, accuses Live Nation of failing to produce requested documents and destroying others.
“Defendants have refused to produce documents, data, and information that are central to Songkick’s claims and that Songkick knows exist due to other aspects of defendants’ productions,” Songkick said in documents reported by Courthouse News Service. “Defendants have admitted to the destruction of documents and emails from numerous central witnesses that participated in defendants’ anti-competitive scheme; and defendants have refused to provide information in response to discovery requests that is reasonably available to them.”
Songkick is reportedly looking for information regarding presale fees on tickets sold by performers, a roster of performers selling presale tickets through Ticketmaster, and all documents discussing Songkick. The suit, alleging Ticketmaster abuses its market power in the realm of presale ticketing, was filed in December.
