Dixie Chicks Set Tour Dates For 2017

The first batch of gigs has been confirmed for Dixie Chicks’ 2017 tour plans. The girls are headed south of the equator this spring to play their first shows in Australia in more than 10 years, as well as their first ever New Zealand concert.

Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire have spent 2016 making their grand return to stages across Europe and North America. The Chicks have received a warm welcome back from critics and fans alike.

A review of the band’s April 29 gig from the Telegraph declared, “Opening their first headline tour of the UK in 13 years at Birmingham’s packed Barclaycard Arena, the triumphant trio proved the power lies in their musicianship, not notoriety, and their talents remain as rich and fierce as ever.”

The trio wrapped up its North American tour last week at the Hollywood Bowl.

The new Australia/New Zealand dates go along with a previously announced headline appearance at the 10th anniversary of CMC Rocks QLD in Willowbank, Ipswich. The festival, which hasn’t announced its daily lineup yet, takes place March 24-26. Here are the new gigs:

March 29 – Sydney, Australia, Qudos Bank Arena
April 1 – Melbourne, Australia, Rod Laver Arena
April 5 – Perth, Australia, Perth Arena
April 8 – Napier, New Zealand, Mission Estate Winery
