Sydney Bus Crash Derails Iero Tour

According to 9News, the accident took place Oct. 13 when the former My Chemical Romance guitarist’s band’s tour van stopped in a bus lane at 4 p.m. on Park Street outside Twitter Australia headquarters for an interview.

The men were at the back of the van unloading equipment when a bus crashed into it. The bus had no passengers.

“The bus driver was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing,” police said. Media reports identified them as band member Evan Nestor and manager Paul Clegg, whose other clients include The Bronx and Mariachi El Bronx. Iero, who was also at the van, was “banged up pretty badly but is physically OK,” said a post from My Chemical Romance.

A concert at the Metro Theatre that evening, the last show of the Australian visit, was canceled along with the remainder of its 2016 tour, which included 20-plus U.S. theater dates on both coasts. Refunds are available at point of purchase, according to a statement from the band.
