Scott Stapp Books Nov.-Dec. Excursion

Next week Scott Stapp will take the stage with Art Of Anarchy for the band’s debut live performance. But he also has another leg of North American solo tour dates to look forward to, starting with a Nov. 19 gig in Cape Coral, Fla.

“Excited to wrap up the 2016 Proof Of Life Tour!” Stapp posted on Facebook. “Heading back out on the road this winter with my friends Adelitas Way and Citizen Zero! Come rock out with us one more time this year!.”

The trek kicked off in January, marking his first U.S. tour since his public breakdown in fall 2014. In May 2015 the former Creed frontman revealed that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder after checking into an intensive program in a dual diagnostic facility. An interview with People magazine noted that he had been abusing alcohol and prescription drugs, in addition to using marijuana.

A review from the Tampa Bay Times of Stapp’s Jan. 15 gig at the Palladium in St. Petersburg, Fla., declared, “If Stapp was nervous about his first public North American gig in well over a year, he didn’t show it, striding around with confidence while roaring, flexing and gesticulating with the mic, just as he did in Creed’s heyday. The crowd was so close he could almost look them in the eye, and the historic Palladium – a building not exactly used to concerts this loud – shook with each crunching chord.”

Here’s the routing for the rest of 2016, featuring Adelitas Way and Citizen Zero.

Art Of Anarchy’s debut live performance is set for Oct. 27 at The Gramercy Theatre in New York. Earlier this month the group released a video for the track “The Madness.”

Stapp joined the band earlier this year, taking over for the late Scott Weiland, who handled vocals on Art Of Anarchy’s 2015 self-titled album. The group also features Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal on lead guitar, Jon Votta on lead guitar, Disturbed’s John Moyer on bass, and Vince Votta on drums.
