Pollstar Awards Host Takes The Cake

You told us what you wanted in an awards show host: a television celebrity who’s also a comedian that knows a lot about baking and magic. We heard you; we’ve got you covered.  

When the 28th annual Pollstar Awards arrives at  (formerly Club Nokia) in Los Angeles Feb. 2, it will be under the control of television personality Justin Willman, who’s not only the host of “Cupcake Wars” and “King of Cones” on the Food Network but also “Win, Lose or Draw” on Disney Channel.

And, yes, he has an association with past Pollstar host 

When the 28th annual Pollstar Awards arrives at , performing magic on the webseries “Magic Meltdown” on his Nerdist Channel. And magic is probably what Willman is known for the most.

He’s had his other hosting stints (“Halloween Wars,” “Last Cake Standing,” “Hubworld” and game show “Scrabble Showdown”), but he’s been a magician since the age of 12 when he broke his arms and an orthopedic surgeon recommended he learn card tricks to build dexterity in his hands.

That led to an early career as “Justin Kredible” – a pretty cool stage name invented by his mom. Still, a lot of you will know him for a viral video from his wedding to photographer Jillian Sipkins – a first dance, with a twist, set to “I Put A Spell On You” that has more than 16 million views.

It’s worth a look just to see the unbridled joy of Willman’s dad when he sees the climactic ending.
