Rehabbing In Illinois

Structural deficiencies inside the Coliseum at the Illinois fairgrounds in Springfield have forced state officials to temporarily close the building until repairs can be made.  

Agriculture Director Raymond Poe said the problems were a result of years of neglect and his decision was made to protect visitors and livestock who use the Coliseum.

The Mid-America Mane Event Horse Show that was to start Oct. 20 at the Coliseum was moved to a c with a Nov. 29 dedication ceremony in Champaign, marking the end of a $170 million rehab project.
