SMG has been awarded the pre-opening and five-year management contract for Miller Theater in Augusta, Ga.

The historic theatre is currently being renovated and is set to reopen 2017 with a project 1,300-seated capacity. The venue, once the second-largest theater in the state, was closed in 1984 and later donated for the use of the Symphony Orchestra Augusta in 2011.

The new contract is a partnership between the Symphony, SMG, and the Miller Theater board.
