Chicago Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Scamming
A trial is under way for a woman accused of stealing more than $5 million while posing as a secondary ticket vendor.
Tracy Monty pleaded not guilty to seven counts of wire fraud and two charges of money laundering in a Chicago court Oct. 21.
Prosecutors said Monty told investors she could earn them money by selling tickets to music and sports events on the secondary market, and then used the funds to buy a new house and car and to pay other investors, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Monty’s next hearing will take place on Nov. 7.
