Jerry Seinfeld Heading To Australia

Jerry Seinfeld hasn’t toured Australia in almost two decades.  But that will change next year when the stand-up comedian heads Down Under for an August adventure.

The Guardian newspaper notes that during Seinfeld’s last performance in Australia in 1998 he created a slight faux pas by jokingly describing Melbourne as “the anus of the world.”

However, Seinfeld walked back the comments in 2007 while he was in Australia doing promo for “The Bee Movie.”

“I never said that.  That was so mean of someone to put those words in my mouth,” Seinfeld said, according to The Guardian.  “I love Melbourne.”

Seinfeld will have the opportunity to tell Melbourne residents exactly how he feels about their city when he plays the local Hisense Arena Aug. 6.  Other stops include Perth, Adelaide and Sydney, as well as Auckland, New Zealand.

Here’s the rundown:

Aug. 4 – Perth, Australia, Perth Arena
Aug. 5 – Hindmarsh, Australia, Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Aug. 6 – Melbourne, Australia,  Hisense Arena
Aug. 9 – Boondall, Australia, Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Aug. 11 – Darling Harbour, Australia, ICC Theatre
Aug. 12 – Auckland, New Zealand, Vector Arena

General onsales launch Nov. 14.  Follow this link for all of your Seinfeld needs.
