The Infamous Stringdusters On The Road

Better watch out – The Infamous Stringdusters is coming to town. The notorious bluegrass band has more than three dozen U.S. performances booked in early 2017.

“The Laws Of Gravity Tour” kicks off Jan. 12 in Raleigh, N.C., and runs through April 8 in Seattle.

The Infamous Stringdusters has been busy showing off its sixth studio album, Ladies & Gentlemen, which was released in February. The concept of the LP features a guest vocalist on each song, including Lee Ann Womack, Joan Osborne, Nicki Bluhm, Sara Watkins and Mary Chopin Carpenter.

Earlier this year Pollstar chatted with guitarist Andy Falco, who took over for Chris Eldridge in 2007.

“Most of the people on the record are people we have a personal connection to – friends and people we’ve worked with,” Falco said. “There’s a few people we never met before that were sort of ‘wish list’ people.  To me, the concept was born more out of the creative benefits of doing something different, writing songs that we weren’t going to sing, necessarily, and trying to find that point of view.  It was an incredible experience.”

After playing “Strings & Sol” in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, in December, the five-piece band wraps up 2016 with two nights at The National in Richmond, Va., Dec. 30-31.
