Adele Plans Aussie Debut

Adele will make her long-awaited Australian debut for LN with five stadium shows in the first part of 2017. The shows, announced Nov. 15, will be a 360-degree, in-the-round production.

“Designed to create intimacy, the tour venues will feature reserved seating on both the playing arenas and the grandstands,” LN said in a statement. The British singer plays Perth Domain Stadium (Feb. 28), The Gabba, Brisbane (March 4), ANZ Stadium, Sydney (March 10), Adelaide Oval (March 13) and Etihad Stadium, Melbourne (March 18).

Tickets go on sale Nov 21 at staggered times in the five cities to cope with ticketing demand. Adele is in the final stages of her 107-date Adele Live 2016 Tour.

Adele has sold 2 million records in Australia, through the independent label Remote Control. Her album 25 became the biggest-selling release in Australia in 2015 six weeks after dropping.

LN hinted at the announcement of the tour with a mysterious 30-second series of spots screened Nov. 13 on primetime Sunday television. By the next morning, frenzied fan comments on social media and reports in all media, were predicting the tour’s announcement.

The singer announced the tour on Twitter, in a handwritten note, “G’Day, it’s me… I was wondering if after 10 years in this game you’d finally like to meet me in: Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide?”

General tickets range from A$310 ($234.10) for A-Reserve to A$101.74 ($76.83) for D-Reserve. VIP packages range from A$475 ($358.75)to A$799.90 ($604.08).
