Anthrax Ready To Headline Europe

Anthrax is spreading the thrash sounds of one of its classic albums around Europe in 2017 and The Raven Age is coming along for the ride.

Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of Anthrax’s Among The Living album, so the band will be performing that release in its entirety, along with other songs from its catalog. The “Among The Kings” tour will start with an extended run of eight gigs in the United Kingdom, opening Feb. 9 at.

After the U.K. there are shows throughout Northern and Western Europe, eventually closing in Paris, France, March 16. Along the way, the band plays the House of Metal festival in Umea, Sweden, March 3.

Anthrax is known as one of the pioneering bands of thrash metal, and has been through many lineup changes, particularly in relation to their lead vocalist. The band currently consists of Scott Ian on guitar, Charlie Benante on drums, Frankie Bello on bass, Jonathan Donais on guitar and Joey Belladonna on vocals.

While the band is sometimes associated with Satan worshipping because of the pentagram in its logo and on many of its albums, Scott Ian said in an interview with MTV that they just thought it looked cool, and the pentagram was a pagan symbol long before its association with the devil.
