Changes: Kanye West, Morrissey

Kanye West reschedules his Inglewood, Calif., gig and throws in free tickets for area students … Morrissey cancels a handful of dates because one of his band members is recovering after being hospitalized.

Kanye West is making up for last week’s show at The Forum that he was forced to cut short. The Nov. 3 gig was supposed to mark his sixth and final “Saint Pablo” tour stop at the Inglewood, Calif., venue but he’s returning Nov. 20 for a do-over.

“My voice is so hoarse. I can’t finish the show,” the rapper told the crowd Nov. 3, according to the Los Angeles Times.  A press release from the venue explains that he had “failing vocal chords.”

Ticketholders who haven’t received a refund will receive a special code to receive a new ticket for Sunday’s show.

Kanye is giving away a “large number” of free tickets to students in select inner-city schools and music programs in Los Angeles and Inglewood, a nod to his commitment to advocating for music education.

A limited amount of tickets will go on sale to the general public Nov. 18 at 12 p.m. PST.

The next gig on the “Saint Pablo” tour is tonight’s show at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

Morrissey was all set to play a sold-out show at the Boulder Theater Monday but the gig was nixed after band member Gustavo Manzur collapsed two hours prior. Now Moz has nixed a few more performances.

A post on fansite True-To-You.net notes that Morrissey came out on stage to tell the Boulder, Colo., crowd the bad news and that fans “were greatly understanding and supportive.” The post included a photo of Manzur in the hospital and noted that “doctors have advised one week of rest.”

Moz plans to resume his tour Nov. 23 in Royal Oak, Mich., which means that his shows in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston have been called off.

Morrissey was supposed to play Dallas’ McFarlin Memorial Auditorium Nov. 16. A post on the venue’s Facebook page says, “It is with great regret that the sold out engagement with Morrissey has been cancelled due to severe illness of a member of the band. Refunds will be available at point of purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope to announce a rescheduled date soon. The tour will continue … from Nov 23 onward.”
