Trey Anastasio Books Solo Gigs

While he will be closing out 2016 and starting out the new year with PhishTrey Anastasio is headed around North America next spring for a tour to promote his latest project.

Anastasio is promoting Paper Wheels, his tenth solo LP, which came out last year. NPR wrote of the album, “Anastasio has gone deep in his study of guitar, and there are times here when his gilded, gorgeously glossy tone seems to propel everything. At any given moment, he can summon vintage Garcia, or a strong hint of Carlos Santana, or Larry Carlton, too. The act of burrowing into the tiny details of music — learning classic records note for note — has helped Anastasio in the lifelong search for his own signature, and enhanced every aspect of his enterprise.”

The new dates start with two nights in Port Chester, N.Y., April 14-15. The gigs are largely booked at theaters and amphitheaters, although he does have an appearance lined up at  in Atlanta on April 21. The last stop on his solo routing is currently  in Missoula, Mont., on June 3.

The performance at  in Morrison, Colo., on May 31 will feature a special guest appearance by Vulfpeck.

Phish is ringing in the New Year by playing four nights at  in New York, Dec. 28-31. The group is also inviting fans to a three-day getaway in Mexico at its  excursion at  in Quintana Roo Jan. 13-15.
