‘Diamond Joe’ Esposito Dies

Joe Esposito, road manager and “right hand man” to Elvis Presley for nearly two decades, died from complications of dementia at his home in Calabasas, Calif., Nov. 23. He was 78.

Esposito met Presley while both were serving at an Army base in Germany. Dubbed “Diamond Joe,” Esposito became a member of Presley’s “Memphis Mafia” after they both left the service.

After Presley’s death, Esposito worked for producer Jerry Weintraub as a road manager for artists including Michael Jackson, the Bee Gees and others.
