Amy Schumer Cancels Down Under, Cites Illness

Comedian Amy Schumer canceled five sold-out arena shows in Australia and New Zealand set to begin this weekend.

Live Nation cited “illness” and added that the tour would not be rescheduled in the immediate future. “Unfortunately, due to Amy Schumer’s tight schedule it is not possible to schedule replacement dates however, we will be working to confirm a return to Australia as soon as is practical,” LN stated.

Schumer had only performed once in Australia before, last year in Melbourne when in town briefly on promotional duties behind her hit movie “Trainwreck.”

The show sold out in minutes. “Inside Amy Schumer” has been screened on the free-to-air Australian Broadcasting Commission network since 2014 to high ratings.

The full-blown stand-up national tour was to begin Dec 10 at Perth Arena.

Other arena dates included Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland Dec. 12-17. LN did not expand on the nature of the illness. In September, the entertainer was hospitalised for food poisoning while vacationing in Paris.
